Artificial Intelligence Infrared (AIIR) Imaging Alliance

The Mission of the Artificial Intelligence Infrared (AIIR) Imaging Alliance is to share resources for the enhancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine learning (ML), and Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) in medical thermology.

AIIR goals and objectives are to enhance medical thermology:

1) Data Collection for AI

2) Clinical protocol creation

3) Biomedical protocol development for social benefit

4) ML compatible equipment

5) Radiometric preserved DICOM storage

6) Research

The founding members of the AIIR Imaging Alliance include:

The American Academy of Thermology (AAT)

The Brazilian Association of Medical Thermology (ABRATERM)

The Korean Society of Thermology

The Data Center for Korean Body Temperature

Suggested AI Principles for Radiometric Image Acquisition:

It is the AIIR Alliance’s intention to offer recommendations with respect to image acquisition and preservation that will facilitate future data analysis.  Protocols intended for artificial intelligence or machine learning analysis should be as encompassing as possible.  Minimum temperature ranges should be 12C and cold challenge tests should be performed.  All images should be saved in DICOM format with radiometric data preserved.  Either AIIR Clinical Protocol or Research Protocol postures should be utilized.

A copy of these postures and the sequence with which to obtain them can be found within the AAT Member’s’ Portal Knowledge Center.  Interested parties are also encouraged to follow the recommendations contained within the Medical Thermal Imaging Guidelines published by the American Academy of Thermology.

If you or your company intend to make use of AI, ML, or SaMD with medical thermology and would like assistance with your project, please feel free to contact us.  Inquiries should be directed to the American Academy of Thermology.
