81-year-old male with a complaint of chronic weakness in his right calf since childhood.  He was raised in depression-era Chicago, where, after a flu-like illness, he noticed that he could no longer hop on his right foot when dancing the polka.  He never sought medical care for this condition.  Thermography was performed to evaluate his known problem with lumbar scoliosis and left hip pain however findings were consistent with old polio of the right leg below the knee.  The left hip MRI findings are attached but results are incidental. Pulse palpation and amplitudes in both feet were normal at the time of these images. No edema, pain, or numbness was present in either leg. Range of motion of the R ankle was 50% of the L ROM. Electrodiagnostics were not obtained however muscle atrophy was present in the calf and was consistent with his PMH of polio.
